Any practice is dependent on its staff team in order to provide its clients with quality veterinary care, and at Wendover Heights we have the staff in place to give our clients an efficient, professional and compassionate service.
Alexandra Draper -
Alex qualified from The Royal Veterinary College in July 2007. She then started an equine internship at the RVC where she developed a keen interest in medicine and foals, before joining the Wendover Heights team in September 2008.
Ben Wakeling -
Ben qualified in 1996 from Glasgow. He worked at Liphook Equine Hospital for several years, initially as a Horse Officer, specialising in equine anaesthesia and intensive care therapy, and then as a First Opinion Assistant, before joining Wendover Heights.
Clare McKinstry -
Clare qualified in 1996 and immediately found her interest in the horse world. She has developed a special interest in the sports horse and also in equine reproduction and has written articles on these subjects. From September 2008 Clare is heading off to work in New Zealand for 6 months to further her stud experience and gain a wider perspective on the veterinary world. We wish her well and look forward to welcoming her back next year.
Joanna O’Gorman -
Jo qualified from The Royal Veterinary College in London in 2001 and joined WHVC in 2002. She works in both the large and small animal sides of the practice, but with an equine bias. Jo is one of 5 vets in her family and her sister Vicky is also one of our equine vets.
Mike Hewit -
Mike graduated from Cambridge in 1988 and joined the practice in 1989 when it was located at the terraced town house premises in Wendover as Parker, Godsal and Partners. He is now a Partner himself and takes great pleasure in the diversity of mixed practice and is passionate about the ethical provision of veterinary care and working alongside clients to improve patient care. Special interests include radiotherapy and orthopaedics. However, despite the trend towards concentrating skills in ever narrower areas, he still enjoys tackling the wide variety of challenges across many veterinary disciplines, believing that there are great benefits from the wider perspective and experience.
Nick Snookes -
Nick has been in the veterinary scene for over 27 years now, with over 22 as Partner. Most of that time has been with the equine side of the practice. He is also involved in veterinary provision for the film and TV industry, with projects including many TV commercials and feature films such as Harry Potter and Batman.
Samantha Castle -
Sam graduated from Liverpool in 2003. She has been working mainly in Northumberland and also spent 18 months working in Australia and travelling around Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, South Africa, Zambia and Malaysia. She joined the WHVC equine team in September 2008 and is hoping that her own pony, Magnus, currently getting fat in a field in Cumbria, will be joining her down south soon.
