Collections  for repeat prescriptions can be made from either the main surgery at Halton or  from our Merrilaw branch surgery in Great Missenden - please state a preference when ordering your prescription.

You will appreciate, however, that the right to prescribe medicines is subject to strict regulations and we are therefore obliged to follow certain procedures when dispensing drugs:

• The animal must be under our care

• We need to see the animal periodically to review the condition and ensure that the drugs you are requesting are still appropriate and the dose is still correct - the frequency of these visits will depend on the individual case.

We do try to be as accommodating as possible in these circumstances but your co-operation in these matters is much appreciated.

We also stock a wide range of prescription diets for animals with prescribed special dietary needs - again, 24 - 48 hours’ notice is required so that we can have your order ready for collection.

If you would like to submit your request electronically, please complete one of the forms below (there are separate request forms for medicines and for prescription diet). Please give as much information as possible regarding your requirements and specify which surgery you wish to collect from.  If you request the item(s) to be posted to you, additional charges for postage will be added to your account.  (Please note that although e-mails are checked regularly,  forms submitted later in the day may not be accessed until the following morning.)  IF YOUR REQUEST IS URGENT, IT IS THEREFORE ADVISABLE TO CALL IN TO THE SURGERY OR TELEPHONE YOUR REQUEST THROUGH.

WRITTEN PRESCRIPTIONS

There is a charge for written prescriptions to reflect fairly the costs and time involved in their production.  Prescriptions for Prescription Only Medicines (POMs) may be issued only for animals under the care of a prescribing Veterinary Surgeon following his or her professional assessment of the animal. Please contact the practice if you require any clarification on this matter.
