Sara joined WHVC Equine in 2020. She qualified from the University of Lisbon back in 2017 after getting a Biology degree in 2011. Since then she has worked in France and the UK, starting with an internship at a large referral racehorse practice in France and an internship at Sussex Equine Hospital. Most recently she worked as an ambulatory equine vet in Kent.
Sara enjoys all aspects of first opinion equine practice and is particularly interested in lameness, poor performance investigation and emergency medicine. She is currently part of a project for the development of an automated lesion detection system in radiographs and is studying towards her Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice, specialising in equine lameness diagnosis and therapeutics. She is also an Official Veterinarian for equine exports.
Sara will be accompanied on her visits by her gorgeous Collie, Ascot.
